Artificial Grass TuftingIn recent years, tufted (otherwise known as artificial) grass has become a major growth industry,due to advancements in yarn make-up and as a consequence, acceptance of tufted grass into a greater number of recreational and sporting activities. Cobble Blackburn is acknowledged as the world leader in the maintenance of tufting machines and as such, the company's technology has kept pace with the increase in grass production. There are specific features of a Cobble machine that make it ideally suited to cope with the demands of handling grass.
Machine RigidityMachine rigidity is very important in the production of tufted goods due to the heavy yarn counts used. The Cobble ST Series tufted machine has a full cast frame for maximum robustness. There are up to eleven cross-members in the bedplate as an integral part of the frame, which is unique within the tufting machine manufacturing industry.
Servo OptionsServo options are available for cloth and yarn feed when a greater degree of yarn and cloth feed control are required. An intermittent servo cloth feed for the higher pile ranges is also available. The intermittent cloth feed is designed to stop the backing cloth feed momentarily whilst the downward needle penetration is completed. This action improves tuft retention, since the backing cloth is not stretched against the needle during the penetration cycle.

FlexibilityThe Cobble ST series machine gives rapid and accurate adjustability. The machine can be utilised for both tufted grass and carpet production. A complete range of compatible pattern attachments is available.
